Our battle with Eczema
My struggle began way back when I was about 14-15 years old, I remember growing up in “blitzfully” cold Pittsburgh, PA where the days would be 10 degrees and the nights -10. Ouch for your skin if you don’t know how to treat it. It doesn’t take rocket science but it takes time to figure out what does well with your skin. There are so many natural products out there unlike petroleum jellies, white creams and hydrocortisones and such. Trust me, I tried them all and although they may work, it’s typically only temporarily. I fought and fought with my skin, I even tried fade creams! Ugh!
Anyway, let’s jump to the present where I ran into this Shea body butter vendor at an Expo here in Dallas, Texas and whalah!! Omg and every other acronym I can think of!! This stuff was magical for my skin, it made it so soft, it was natural, and it loved my skin just as much as I loved it. After about a year of using it I knew one of my sons had suffered from eczema as well so I thought let me try it on him. Stay here with me for a moment while I just flash back a bit. I recall during my journey for getting clear skin naturally I heard about this doctor named Sebi. Dr. Sebi talked about so many beneficial plants and roots that were not just good for your insides but for your outsides as well. That root was called “Burdock Root”. This powerful root had so many vitamins and minerals similar to our own and one of the effects of it was that it could heal skin whether taken in a powder form in a capsule or made into an oil for your skin. Well I figured my son wouldn’t be consistent taking the pills so I made it into an oil (watching many a videos..)
My second thought was that I wanted to use the oil as well externally but I had this magnificent Shea butter already and didn’t want to add “toooo” much oil on my skin because too much of anything is never a good idea. :) Of course I thought, “what if I add them together?” Boom! I pulled out my mixer and dumped my Shea butter in a bowl (fingers crossed) and added my burdock root oil that I made and blended them together! My My My.. how can you do that side kick? I could never do it lol. Man, that butter came out so nice and creamy, I was more in love. So, I of course used my son as a research subject (he consented don’t worry lol) and tried it out on him and can I just say wow “again”. He skin totally changed colors, it was kinda grey and very dry to this radiantly golden color with the dry patches disappearing and honestly guys, it took about 7 days, no lie. Homeboy was looking rough before the test and he was loving the outcome, I couldn’t do anything about that smile on his face every time I told him how handsome he looked with this golden skin.
My story can go on and on about how I stumbled upon mango and kokum butters but I’ll save that for my next blog! Thanks for reading all and remember I no one loves you, I do because God told me to and with my pleasure! Oh btw, if you want to know the best butter I have for you, I say try our “not just” African Shea whipped butter, we expanded upon our ingredients and have added emulsifying wax to ensure the butter goes on and stays on!
